Some heterodox economists and student activists were featured in a story in the Washington Post about their campaign kick off at ASSA. This makes two times in a year that heterodox economists have made the news (NY Times red-baiting ad and follow up Boston Globe article). No press is bad press!

Read the article here: http://www.washingtonpost.com/news/storyline/wp/2015/01/05/the-protesters-who-are-trying-to-upend-the-fantasy-world-of-economics/

Also, see Mankiw’s response to the activists here at his blog:

http://gregmankiw.blogspot.com/

Mankiw ignores the fact that he was asked, specifically and publicly, about use of the Cobb-Douglas function and the Cambridge capital controversies. His reply from the panel was that he would not talk about the controversies. His blog leaves no space for comment, but it does provide a link to email him a note. It seems he is inviting provocative questions from other economists, should anyone feel inspired to reply to his post.
