Thousands of demonstrators, as part of the social justice organization Democracy Spring, have been staging a mass sit-in at the US Capital this week protesting the unlimited sums of money in politics, which ultimately benefit and protect the wealthiest 1% at the general public’s expense, while at the same time laws are hammered through to disenfranchise  people of color and the poor.
